Pattern Evaluation of Noise Propagation at Various Units of a Textile Industry

چکیده
Textile industry is among those industries that have noise exposure problems pervasively. The results of different studies in this industry has shown that the level of sounds were higher than permissible limits. Monitoring the sound emission model at cotton beating, wick and cotton spinning units for determining the main noise sources has been the aim of this study. To determine the sound emission model around textile industry machines, sound level measurements were performed by grid method. To identify the sound emission pattern and main sources, isosonic curves were drawn using SURFER software and the curves were adjusted with the map of machines location according to the results of previous stage. Measurements were carried out at several points around sources based on ISO 9612 method. At cotton beating unit, the sound pressure level ranged between 79 and 87 dB(A) where the highest sound level was at adjacent stations of carding machine. The average sound pressure level of carding machines was 86 dB(A) and the maximum sound pressure level was at frequency 1000 Hz. At mixer unit, the highest sound pressure level and the dominant frequency were 80 dB(A) and 250 Hz, respectively. The results of environmental sound measurement at cotton spinning unit has shown that the sound level were from 86 to 95 dB(A) where the highest sound level was at Con Winder stations and ring machines. Thus, it was found that the main sources of noise at textile industry were carding, ring and cone winder machines.
