چکیده
Introduction: Communication skills are the main features for people who are working in health care. The aim of this study is surveying the level of communication skills of teaching hospital's medical staff. Material and Methods: In 2014, this cross – sectional study was conducted on 302 people of medical staff in Hamadan. The subjects were randomly classified and were selected in each hospital proportional to population size. Demographic information and communication skills (verbal, listening and feedback) were completed by using questionnaires from medical staff. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS22 and statistical tests such as Manwitney, Crosse cal valise, T – test and Variance analysis. Results: Subjects gained respectively 51.4, 54.2 and 49.3 average percentage of communicational skills included verbal, listening and feedback. Medical staff's communicational skills in all three verbal, listening and feedback dimensions were observed in an average level .There is significant difference between the scores of feedback skills (0.001) and verbal skills (0.018) in different educational levels. There is a significant difference the score of each of the skills in different hospitals (P<0.05). Also the verbal and feedback skills in the group of midwives were more than the others and auditory skills in paramedics were the most. Conclusion: communication skill levels in verbal, auditory and feedback level among medical skills are not in good condition. Communicational skills training must be done on an experimental basis and preferably at the time of recruitment and for vocational retraining.
